Combinatorial Effects of Glycine and Inorganic Nitrogen on Root Growth and Nitrogen Nutrition in Maize (Zea mays L.)

چکیده
Organic and inorganic nitrogen play important roles in plant nutrition. However, how the coapplication of organic affects root growth, metabolism, soil content is still unclear. Plant shoot uptake were studied maize (Zea mays L.) through pot experiments with different treatments, including NH4+ -N (Amm), NO3− (Nit), + (Amm Nit), glutamate-N Nit Glu), glycine-N Gly). The results show that treated Amm Gly was highest among all treatments. In addition, glycine increased glutamine synthetase (GS) activity leaves, promoted metabolism levels, conducive to accumulation amino acids soluble protein leaves. Compared nitrogen, combined total length surface area. A correlation analysis showed area had a significant positive effect on uptake. When ammonium, nitrate, applied together, higher than for other Therefore, we conclude can increase content, promote thus facilitate metabolism.

متن کاملEffects of Mulching and Nitrogen on Soil Nitrate-N Distribution, Leaching and Nitrogen Use Efficiency of Maize (Zea mays L.)
Mulching and nitrogen are critical drivers of crop production for smallholders of the Loess Plateau in China. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mulching and nitrogen fertilizer on the soil water content, soil nitrate-N content and vertical distribution in maize root-zone. The experiment was conducted over two consecutive years and used randomly assigned field plots with...
متن کاملEffects of inoculation on growth promotion and biological nitrogen fixation in maize (Zea mays L.) under greenhouse and field conditions
The application of PGPB to agriculture is increasing as it offers an alternative to the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and other supplements. Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the world’s principal cereal crops, grown for grain, silage and biofuel. Nitrogen fertilizer constitutes one of the major costs in maize production, and PGPB poses a potential alternative for achieving more sustainab...
متن کاملEffects of manure, municipal waste compost and nitrogen on weed communities in corn (Zea mays L.)
A two year field experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of municipal waste compost (C), composted cattle manure (M), and nitrogen (N) on growth and composition of weeds in a corn field in Shiraz using a split-split plot design with 3 replicates. Visual inspection of the plots showed that the manure treatments neither introduced new weed species nor increased weed density more than t...
متن کاملMaize (Zea mays L.).
Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
